Three penalties were scored at Craven Cottage – two by Raul Jimenez and one by Liam Delap – as Fulham lost ground on their fellow contenders for European qualification.

Silva's team were twice forced to come from behind, with Jimenez scoring their second equaliser from 12 yards in the 91st minute, having been felled inside a crowded penalty area by Leif Davis.

Fulham felt Davis should have been sent off midway through the first half, though, having wiped Harry Wilson out as the Welshman looked to burst through on goal.

The officials decided Fulham had not been denied a clear goalscoring opportunity in a decision that incensed Silva, who was also frustrated by the time it took to award the hosts' first spot-kick – given following a VAR review when Sam Morsy stepped on Wilson's foot.

"It should be one man more. It's difficult to understand why it was not a red card," Silva told Sky Sports of the potential red card for Davis.

On Darren Bond's failure to award Fulham's first penalty in real time, he added: "It was a clear penalty – one of the biggest this season. I am going to be in trouble [if I talk about it] and I don't want to be."

Sunday's game was the first in the Premier League to feature three penalties, including at least one for each team, since Fulham beat Wolves 3-2 in November 2023.

Jimenez is now up to 10 successful penalties from as many attempts in his Premier League career, with only Cole Palmer (12/12) and Yaya Toure (11/11) boasting better 100% conversion rates in the competition's history.

Silva was delighted with Jimenez's performance but acknowledged his team must show more if they are to seriously challenge for Europe, having drawn five of their last seven games.

"It was a great performance by Raul Jimenez. He showed the character and the calmness," Silva said.

"There are many positives I take from the game. In some moments we cannot concede like we did and we have been punished by some mistakes.

“You have brought immense glory to India and have inspired millions of young athletes to pursue their dreams,” Mandaviya was quoted as saying in a media release.

"Everybody can talk about European hopes. I prefer our team to speak on the pitch. If you want to be fighting you have to be much more ruthless and aggressive."naga casino
