These two teams are meeting for the first time in the tournament in group stage.

The tourists lost the five-match T20I series 4-1 and are looking to avoid a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series when they take on India in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

And 35-year-old Wood has said that England's white-ball team is in a completely different state compared to the Test side that McCullum inherited.

"We've got two or three guys who have played a lot then we've got guys that are just starting under a new coach. It takes time. The Test team was in a very different place to the one-day team."

Wednesday will be the final competitive fixture that England will play before they take on arch-rivals Australia in the Champions Trophy opener in Lahore on 22 February.

They will then face Afghanistan on 26 February before taking on South Africa on 1 March. But the 2019 World Cup winners have not had the best of preparations for the tournament.

"It's very easy to look at this and say we're not performing well because we're losing games but the 2019 World Cup-winning team, we didn't win very much here. This is as tough as it comes to win away," said Wood.

"We've lost this series but when we get to the Champions Trophy, this cannot linger on us. We've got to get used to tournament cricketnaga casino, it's a totally different feeling, don't carry any baggage from here."
